Love Island USA: The ladies send the first unlucky guy home after a sexy obstacle course

Love Island USA completed it’s first week of a four week run on Friday night, and one of the male suitors went home empty-handed.

The dramatic episode also included a ‘commando competition’ in which the island’s men had to complete an obstacle course in the sexiest way possible while the women splattered them with paint.

The island’s new arrivals, Dylan and Cormac, continued shaking up the fragile relationships by going on second dates with different women, Elizabeth for Cormac and Mallory for Dylan.

The episode opened amid their second dates as the two men tried to get to know the women at turbo speed.

Cormac is in the midst of his date with Elizabeth, and he thinks they hit it off.

‘There could be potential there, so that’s why I chose you,’ he tells her.

‘They thought I was joking when I said I got a text,’ she relies.

Meanwhile, Dylan jokes that he wanted to stir the pot a bit by choosing Mallory for date number two.

In the confessional, Caro talked about her date with Cormac.

‘He’s a funny guy, but I could not imagine being together with him.’

Michael seems to take some pleasure in Cormac’s failure to impress Caro more.

While the guys talk about the couples on dates, Zac admits that he’s uncomfortable with Elizabeth being with Cormac.

‘Another guy taking her on a date gives me that pit of the stomach feeling,’ he says.

While talking about Mallory and her date with Dylan, the men seem pretty convinced that she wants a ‘smoother cat,’ someone who’s will to shell out top dollar for luxury.

Weston tells them that he and Mallory decided they’ll be friends and just see where the relationship goes.

While on their date, Dylan and Mallory decide to share some cake that’s laid out with cheese and fruit.

Each feeds a piece to the other, while the cake crumbles all over them.

On the other date, Cormac tells Elizabeth that he appreciated her being one of the first people to approach him and that he thinks she’s easy to talk to.

But he’s sensitive enough to ask her how she feels about having gone on a second date after being coupled with Zac.

‘I’ve known him for four days,’ she says, adding that she would feel stupid not trying out the date.

Once the group is back together after the dates, Weston chats with Alexandra, complaining about all the pressure there is to hold hands and kiss immediately.

He thinks Mallory should speak up if she feels there’s a connection between them.

Cormac debriefs from his dates, saying he was attracted to both Caro and Elizabeth, but it’s still too early to say how he leans.

But Zac seems happy to see Elizabeth back, and he corners her as she’s sitting on the bathroom counter.

‘Are you afraid I’m going to change?’ he playfully asks her before kissing.

The guys are also suspicious, even shaming, toward Caro.

‘I think Caro might just be trying to get all the guys to love her,’ muses Yamen to the other men.

In order to solidify his connection with Elizabeth, Zac takes the extreme step of having Weston shave a heart into his chest hair, but when he shows her she collapses into a fit of giggles just before everyone heads to bed.

The next morning, a little bird has wandered its way into the house.

Cormac tries to start the day right by settling any awkwardness with Zac about his date the previous night with Elizabeth, whom Zac is coupled with.

Cormac asks if he was surprised that they went on a date, and reiterates that he finds her to be attractive, but the interaction seems to be positive for both men.

In the confessional, Zac admits that he think Elizabeth’s date just solidified that she had a deeper connection with him than Cormac.

Cormac then has fellow new guy Dylan debrief him on the previous night’s dates with Alexandra and Mallory, both of which he liked, though he singles Mallory out as being funny.

Cormac is pretty sure that Caro likes him and he plans to keep pursuing her even though its competitive, with Michael also angling to pair up with Caro. He also thinks Elizabeth seems genuine.

‘I talk about scoring girls like it’s a joke, but I’ve been doing this since I was 16, so I have 10 years experience doing this,’ he brags in the confessional.

Meanwhile, Caro decides she wants to investigate her feelings about Michael more. She asks Alana for advice on how to best get to know him.

While she spends time chatting with Michael, the couple seem to have awkward pauses in the conversation, and Michael gives her an awkward high five that seems out of place.

‘You know what I like about your laugh? It reminds me of a dad laugh,’ says Caro, expressing an observation that’s not exactly a compliment.

Yet Michael seems oblivious and says there might be something between them in confessional.

Everything is shaken up when Yamen gets a text message, causing him to dance around.

‘Islanders, It’s time to find the sexiest sergeants in today’s game,’ it reads. ‘Going commando #protectyourprivates.’

Cormac thinks that means going ‘butt naked,’ but it ends up being an obstacle course task.

The men and women are all dressed in camouflage bathing suits, and the men have to complete a tiny makeshift obstacle course in the sexiest manner possible before kissing one of the women at the end, even as the ladies shoots paint at them from the sidelines.

Cashiel is the first to do the course, and though he doesn’t think it was very sexy, Kyra disagrees, admitting he was weird but saying she liked it.

‘I thought I got off to a good start,’ Cormac says, before paint in his eye slowed him down.

Caro only has eyes for Yamen’s ripped physique as he completes the course, but he kisses Alana at the conclusion.

‘There girls were going nuts with the paint,’ he says. ‘I was getting knocked out there.’

‘I’m not reading into it too much,’ says Alana afterward. ‘All I’m saying is I liked the kiss.’

Michael seems the most enthusiastic of all the men.

‘Ladies, get ready to get sweaty, cause I’m about to penetrate this course like a machete!’ he shouts with glee.

He grinds against the wooden poles he has to climb over and shakes his booty for all the ladies to see.

‘That’s very impressive. His butt cheeks jiggle at different times,’ admits Alana.

Dylan doesn’t think much of his sexy factor, but Alexandra is happy when he kisses her at the conclusion.

‘I was worried he might kiss Mallory,’ she admits.

Ultimately, the women determine Michael is the winner, though the pointless game doesn’t seem to confer any benefit to him.

After everyone cleans up, Caro gets serious about finding a partner, fearing she’ll be eliminated if she doesn’t.

She awkwardly asks Alana if she can talk to Yamen, acting as if she just didn’t get a chance to talk to him in depth, even though she’s feeling him out as a partner.

Everyone then gets ready and dressed up for the night, with multiple men getting in the same shower to speed things up.

This time it’s Caro who gets the text.

‘Islanders, tonight there will be a recoupling,’ it reads. ‘The girls will choose and the boy not picked will be dumped from the island.’

‘Could be a quick stint on the island for us brother,’ says Dylan to Cormac.

Meanwhile, Caro is freaking out about being in the decisive spot.

‘I haven’t connected to anyone in the villa, and now I have to choose! I don’t want to be in the position to send somebody home,’ she complains.

With the clock ticking, Caro schedules her meeting with Yamen.

‘I’m pretty interested in you as more than a friend,’ she says.

‘I don’t think we’ve really had enough time to know that,’ says Yamen, shutting her down.

Cormac also apologizes to Caro: ‘I should have gotten to know you better today.’

‘But am I still looking to pursue something with you? 100 percent,’ he tells her.

Mallory admits she’s a sucker for cowboys and picks Weston, who’s always seen wearing a cowboy hat.

Now it’s only Michael, Dylan and Cormac left.

Alexandra picks Dylan because he’s ‘really cute’ and made her ‘laugh infectiously,’ so at least one of the new guys is safe.

That leaves only Caro, who has to choose between sexy sergeant Michael and Irish club promoter Cormac.

‘I would like to couple up with this boy because he makes it feel like there’s a possibility that I could be myself and that I could have a good time,’ she says.

After a pause, she picks Cormac, meaning Michael is being sent home alone.

Cormac rushes up and gives her a hug, and possible a kiss on the forehead, but he doesn’t appear to give her a kiss on the mouth like the other couples.

Michael stands alone, looking dejected, while Caro has an uncomfortable look on her face.

He has thirty minutes to pack his suitcase and say his goodbyes to the islanders.

‘I feel so bad,’ cries Caro as the other girls try to comfort the sobbing contestant.

The men all line up to say their goodbyes, with Cormac near the back of the pack.

‘I’m so sorry,’ Caro says as Michael gives her a quick farewell.

There’s likely to be even more drama next week, as the addition of new women is teased at the end of the program.
